McCaffery Interests acquired One Schaumburg Place in 1997 and began transforming the property from a failed two-level, indoor mall into an exciting streetside retail development. The result is The Streets of Woodfield, a 650,000-square-foot redevelopment project with an appealing tenant mix of urban shops, restaurants, clubs and theaters, each with its own facade — a refreshing change from the traditional suburban shopping mall. The project incorporates numerous pedestrian scale elements including historic street lights, decorative street furniture, fountains, bollards and chains, ponds, arbors, decorative paving, banners, and “street signs.”
McCaffery Interests attracted world-class tenants to The Streets of Woodfield including: Maggiano’s/Corner Bakery; Galyan’s Trading Company; a 20-screen Loews Theatre complex with stadium seating; GameWorks; Dick Clark’s AB Diner; Wolf Camera; Starbucks Café; Jamba Juice; Chipotle Grill; Carson Pirie Scott; Ann Taylor Loft; Aveda Spa & Salon; Shaw’s Crab House and Blue Crab Lounge; and Big Bowl.
