Springfield Main Street Redevelopment
Springfield, MA 01103
The Main Street Redevelopment project will take three underutilized buildings in the heart of Downtown Springfield Massachusetts and return them back to life with a mixture of apartments and retail space.
The largest building is known as the Colonial Block, located at 1115 Main Street and built in 1902 in the Classical Revival style. The building was one of Springfield's first mixed-use developments featuring a mixture of office, apartments and retail. The Clocktower Building, located at 113 State Street, was originally constructed in 1893 as a Masonic Temple and renovated in the 1920's for office use. The third building is a smaller, midcentury office building located at 11-21 Stockbridge Street. The collection is surrounded by popular destinations including The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum, the MassMutual Convention Center, and MGM Springfield.
The Main Street Redevelopment project will add much-needed market rate housing to Downtown Springfield and enable more residents to live close to area amenities. Ground floor commercial spaces ideally will feature a mix of destination retail and local and regional businesses designed to serve the growing downtown population.
